Nardoo

Nardoo is situated close to the small locality of Coolongolook, originally known as Telararee. Telararee was settled in 1815.

The land around Nardoo itself was originally ceded to the AA company on its inception in 1824. At this time the colony of NSW extended as far as the Manning River, and for a while Coolongolook, where Nardoo is situated, was one of the most northerly outposts of the new colony.

In 1840 the AA Company returned the larger proportion of the lands in the Mid North Coast to the Crown, finding it unsuitable for sheep.

In 1891 the NSW Government divided the land around Telararee into farming land & Nardoo was acquired by the Kennedy family.

Nardoo is the Victorian cottage and was the original homestead of the Kennedy family.
Steeped in history, Nardoo has seen a Gold rush, timber getters looking for Red Cedar, cattle grazing and now Alpacas and bushfoods.

We have embarked on restoring the homestead and farm into a productive and lively aggregation. With its borders of the Coolongolook River and the Bachelor State Forest, Nardoo is an easy kilometre from the Pacific Highway, which makes it isolated, yet easy to reach.
